| 作品解説 | 景色をみつめる光の群れ。 多面体から生える複数の筒は、この場所の景色を内部に映し刻々と変化させる。筒ごとに異なる景色は境界をもちつつも、緩やかに混ざり合っていく。また立体の表層においても、湾曲した筒の束は、観覧者と対峙する状況に応じて常に変化する景色を内部とは異なる新たな風景として映し出す。 一本の花は、それだけでも美しい。だが幾つかの花が束ねられることで、「花束」として異なる美しさや意味を生み出す。同様に、この場所の景色をつくることは、地域の自然環境と人々の営みが緩やかに繋がることでもある。本作は点在する無数の景色の束であり、都市という群れを映す、場をみつめ接続するための装置でもあるのだ。 A cluster of light gazing at the landscape. The multiple tubes growing out of this polyhedron capture the scenery of this place within themselves, changing from moment to moment. The different views held by each tube retain their own boundaries, yet gradually blend into one another. On the surface of the three-dimensional form as well, the bundle of curved tubes reflects ever-changing views—depending on the situation in which it confronts the viewer—as a new landscape distinct from the one inside. A single flower is beautiful in itself. Yet when several flowers are gathered together, they produce a different kind of beauty and meaning as a "bouquet". In the same way, to create the landscape of this place is also to gently connect the natural environment of the region with the activities of its people. This work is a bundle of countless scattered landscapes, and at the same time a device for gazing at and connecting the site, reflecting the city as a cluster. |
