| 作品解説 | 本作は、社会的孤立（social isolation）によって言葉にならない感情が内部に溜まり、やがて身体として外形化してしまう状態を、空洞の自画像として提示します。 白い筋肉的フォルムは、思考が透明な結論へ向かうのではなく、過剰な塊として肥大し、泣きと滑稽さを同時に帯びる人間の姿です。 内部は空気だけで満たされ、外側の強い現前と内側の空っぽが矛盾として共存します。 椅子は日常の最小の居場所であり、座る／転げ落ちるという不安定さを通して、孤立と接続の境界を示します。 重い記念碑ではなく、空気で成る軽い記念碑として、公共空間に「言えなさ」の居場所をつくります。 As a hollow self-portrait, this work presents a state in which emotions that cannot be put into words accumulate internally due to social isolation, and eventually externalize as a bodily form. The white muscular form depicts a human figure in which thought does not move toward a transparent conclusion but instead swells into an excessive mass, carrying both weeping and grotesqueness at the same time. The interior is filled only with air, and the strong presence of the exterior and the emptiness of the interior coexist in contradiction. The chair is the smallest place of belonging in everyday life; through the instability of sitting / falling off, it indicates the boundary between isolation and connection. Rather than a heavy monument, it becomes a light monument made of air, creating in public space a place for “what cannot be said”. |
