| 作品解説 | 重さ10トンの巨岩が、のっそり市役所玄関前に鎮座している。だがその表情は、1つの石が表現の仕方で2つの部分に分かれているように見えるので妙にユーモラスである。下方の太い2本足で立つ台の部分は、積層した切れ込みが横に無数に走ることによって、上部に横たわる柔らかく磨かれた巨石とは対照的である。まるで台上にすっとぼけた人格が悠々と横臥し、夢を見ているようである。市政の未来もこれくらいはるか遠くに目をすえてありたいものだ。 A huge rock weighing 10 tons quietly sits in front of the city hall entrance. Its inexplicably humorous appearance, as if a rock is made of two parts, is created by different expressions applied in these parts. The thick, two-legged pedestal at the bottom features a myriad of layered notches and stands in contrast to the round, polished boulder on top of it. the combined look is as if a dipsy personality majestically emerges, peacefully dreaming on the ragged pedestal. It would be great if a city administration can envision faraway into the future, like the personality represented in the work. |
