| 作品解説 | みごとに磨きぬかれた黒御影石の清潔さとその威容に人はまず驚かされる。そして次の瞬間、一体どうして割ったのだろう？とその技術の不思議さにびっくりする。一枚岩を縦に割って3本の部分からできているのはすぐ理解できるが、寸分のスキもなくぴったり合わさっているのに矢ケンを入れた痕もない。おまけに中央部は垂直に立っているのに両側は波打っており、ところどころ白い割れ目がナマのまま見え隠れしている。素材の良さをありのまま見せながら技術がほとんど前面にでない秀作である。 At first sight, the cleansed and majestic appearance of the thoroughly polished black granite astonishes us. The first impact is soon replaced by the wonder at the technique which enabled the stone to be split in such a way. While it is immediately recognizable that a single slab is split vertically to be made into three parts, there is no trace of chisel work between each piece, which matches perfectly with each other without leaving a gap. What is more, the central piece stands erect, while both sides are wavy and occasionally showing untreated white cracks. The masterpiece showcases the beauty of the material as it is while tactfully hiding the techniques applied on it. |
