| 作品解説 | 数トンもある重い石も、その重さがかみ合うことによってこのように軽々と持ち上がる。白、赤、黒、十基の御影石が互いに大きな歯をかみ合わせ、ねじれながら地上から弓なりにせりあがって、再び地上で安定する。この原理は昔からアーチ石橋などに用いられてきたが、その石組みのひとつひとつをもっと荒々しく誇張させることによって斬新な芸術作品となしている。 Even heavy stones weighing several tons can be lifted up so lightly when their weights are interlocked in the right way. Ten white, red, and black granite stones engage each other’s teeth, twisting and leaving the ground in an arch in the middle, and safely land on the ground once again. The principle has been used since old times in arched stone bridges and other masonries, but by exaggerating the stonework in its rough state, the sculptor successfully transformed the mechanism into an innovative artwork. |
