| 作品解説 | ひと塊の岩から彫り出し、それを直立させたところが他の彫刻家にはみられない新鮮さを保っている。中央部を細長くくり抜き技術的には風の抵抗を避けるとともに、軽妙さや崇高さをかもし出す。左右対称ではなく、くり抜き穴に沿ってやわらかな窪みが縦に走っておりその窪みの陰影がこの彫刻をいっそう深味のあるものにしている。寡黙で抑えた表現力がかえってこの作品をひき立つものにしている。 The sculpture is somewhat unique and refreshing in the way it is carved from a single block of rock and standing upright. The slim hollow in the middle technically reduces wind resistance but esthetically creates the atmosphere of lightness and sublimity at the same time. Soft dents run vertically along the hollow, adding asymmetric shadow to the figure and creating further depths. The quiet, restrained expression paradoxically stresses its presence. |
