| 作品解説 | ひし形の石の中にくりぬかれた形に注目。外側は変哲もない石だけれども、内側の柔らかい形は泡のよう。大理石のすべすべした感触も手伝って、生命が生まれる様子を連想させる。題名は作者が住んでいた神奈川県三浦海岸から。かたい石を通して、母なる海を表現している。 Take note of the shape hollowed out in the middle of the diamond-shaped stone. While the surface looks like just an ordinary stone, the soft shape inside looks like bubbles. The combined effect of the smooth marble texture invites imagery of life being born. The title derives from Miura Coast (Kanagawa), where the sculptor lived. The Mother Sea manifests herself from within the hard stone. |
