| 作品解説 | 作者は長くメキシコに滞在、彼地のマヤ遺跡など古代石像群などから多くを吸収し、メキシコ・オリンピックのモニュメントなどの制作者としても知られる。左右相似のこの彫刻は、正面のくりぬいた部分にひだなどを見せ、どこか人体フォルムの部分にも似た有機的な抽象形態が、土俗性を表出して親しみがもてる。 The sculptor stayed in Mexico for many years, where he absorbed formative elements from assemblages of ancient stone statues in Mayan ruins, etc. He is also known as the creator of Mexico Olympics monument. The sculpture with near-symmetric sides features wrinkles in the hollowed parts on its façade. The organic abstractiveness, somewhat reminiscent of a human form, stimulate a sense of folkish affinity. |
