| 作品解説 | 地面に低く配置された三基の石と、すっくと立つ一基の石。立てる石の頂上部からは、はるか彼方の空へ向けて鉄板が斜め上方へと伸びている。地面の三基の石にもやはり互いに鉄の角柱が無造作に渡しかけられている。石と鉄、その無造作な配置が素材の実在感を強くきわ立たせながら、互いに呼応し合う。これまでの彫刻観になかった新たな造形観-無関係の関係、自在な空間、仮構の配置-つまりインスタレーションが出現した。禅的な空間を体験させられる思いだ。 Three stones lie low on the ground in contrast to an erect figure of a single stone. The standing monolith features an iron plate on its top, pointing upward at the space far ahead. On the ground, iron prisms nonchalantly bridge three stones. The seemingly careless arrangement of stones and irons highlights the materials’ individual existence and their interactions at the same time. Formative concepts hitherto nonexistent in the realm of sculpture art – relevance of irrelevance, unrestrained space, temporary structure – or “installation” in other word, finally emerged. The atmosphere of Zen dominates the place. |
