| 作品解説 | 幾何学的な抽象彫刻ではわが国の第一人者である。とくに抽象的なかたちを幾何学的な面白いドラマを演じる中で取り出して見せる工夫はこの作者ならではのすばらしいユーモア精神だろう。この作品は2枚の円盤と三角支柱で構成されているが、円も三角もいずれも2枚に折った姿で組み合っているところがミソで、円盤がただ折れただけなのに構成された空間は2倍にも4倍にも複雑な位相となって見えてくる。同じ年に制作された名作「骰子の骨抜き」が第1回展に出品された。 The artist is one of the most influential sculptors in Japan in the area of geometric abstract structures. His brilliant sense of humor stands out especially in depicting abstract shapes in the context of exciting geometric stories. The work consists of two discuses and a triangular pillar. The fun part is that all these elements are folded in two and then combined, successfully creating a doubly and quadruply complex spatial structure simply by bending discs. “Boned Dice,” a masterpiece produced in the same year, entered the 1st Exhibition. |
