Comment | This small piece overemphasizing the eyes is usually called an “eye-idol.” A temple at Tell Brak, Northern Syria, from the fourth millennium BC yielded hundreds of the pieces, and the temple was named the “eye-temple.” Eye-idols were probably used votive object to the temple. |
