Comment | A head of lion made with gold is thought to have been a decoration on the tip of a rod like whetstone. The similar object was excavated from Marlik, the early Iron Age cemetery in the southwestern coast of Caspian Sea, northern Iran. In some examples, lion and dogs are represented in similar features because they were considered as same species of animal in Assyria at that time. |
