Cylinder Seal of Presentation Scene

CommentCylinder seal appeared around 3500 BC in Orient. Motifs engraved on the curving surface of the cylinder, then it was rolled on clay sealing or tablet. The surface with engraved motifs extend wider laterally than stamp seal, so that narrative scenes tend to be favored as motifs of cylinder seal. The motif of this seal is called as "presentation scene". A goddess take the hand of a man, the owner of this cylinder, whose head was shaven, in order to lead to the main god sitting on a throne. The cuneiform inscription is the name of this cylinder owner, ur-nin-sun.
