Comment | A stamp seal made from carnelian. The engraving has been done in the cut and drill style characteristic of the Neo-Babylonian era. The face depicts the three images of a worshipper, an altar and a divine symbol with a star above. In Mesopotamia, the iconography of the gods inspired awe; this seal is a fetish representing a god. |
