ProvenanceEastern Mediterranean
PeriodRoman period
Date1st Century CE
MaterialGlass, Mould- blown
DimensionH. 8.0 cm
CommentA bottle with one handle, mold-blown in violet transparent glass. The mouth rim has been fire-polished; the pontil mark is present. The handle applied to the rim-shoulder is made of green glass. The decoration on the body, made in a two-part mold, features a rosette design at top and bottom, and a vine pattern in relief in the middle. Traces of the halves of the mold remain up to the halfway point on the neck. Since the neck continues without interruption toward the mouth rim, it is conceivable that it was made from a hollow glass blow rod. Intact.
