Comment | One of the rare minerals, antimony makes the glass color opaque yellow when it is added in a state of lead antimonate into the glass material. This piece is a fragment of a bowl with round base. Colorless transparent glass canes wound with yellow glass have been wound spirally to create a bowl. Another colorless transparent glass cane wound with blue glass have been applied to the rim. The bowls of this size are considered to have been used for drinking cups. Please try to imagine the cup filled with wine. |
