Comment | A disk pendant cast in an open mold using bright, light blue glass. Both the upper and undersides are undecorated, and the weathered surface seems to have peeled away to form numerous irregularities that can be observed in the upper surface. The threadhole at the top is 0.5 centimeters in diameter, piercing the 0.7 centimeter thick glass tab in a straight line. It is difficult to imagine that a drill or other tool was used to perforate the tab. Conceivably, the hole was cast by inserting a charcoal rod or something similar in the mold in the position where the hole was to be formed. |
