CommentStone vessels are characteristic artifacts of Egyptian dynasties. Their production started ca. 4000 BC in Egypt. Stone vessels were usually made from beautiful stone such as marble or anhydrite. Traces of drilling are visible on the inner surface. This small jar was used as a container for cosmetic materials. The form and production technique suggest that this jar dates to the Greco-Roman period.
