Comment | This type of spouted bowl is rare for the Islamic pottery. The base of the pottery is filled with a vulture depicted in schematically and margined with white clay. The influence from Byzantine design may have been applied to this pottery, because the figure of vulture depicted from front is rare for the Islamic design. The similar examples are reported from Nishapur, northeastern Iran. |
