Comment | The wooden sculpture of Ptah-Sokar-Osiris is usually accompanied by a falcon on a small wooden coffin in front of it. This falcon, however, does not have any mortise on the bottom, which means that this falcon was a funerary object but not an accessory of the deity sculptures. A chemical analysis of the constituents of the blue paint on its back revealed that the paint was Egyptian Blue, the earliest artificial pigment. |
