Comment | It seems that the region of India and Southeast Asia where Sindbad the Sailor eventually drifted is the region where incense was produced. The tales of Sindbad describe scenes in which he obtained incense in the region where he had eventually landed. Sindbad the Porter was lured in by the fragrance of incense and found his way to the mansion of Sindbad the Sailor. Was Sindbad burning the incense, which he obtained by risking his life, in an incense burner similar to the one exhibited here? |
