Comment | In ninth century AD, Chinese pottery was very popular in Islamic world so that a lot of imitations of Chinese pottery were made there, because imports of genuine Chinese pottery were less than the demand. While Islamic potters try to imitate Chinese pottery, they began to paint different designs with cobalt or luster pigment on the pottery. The newly invented blue paint on white glaze ware or luster ware were not only prevalent but also had great effect on the development of Chinese ceramics, which were models of Islamic potters. |
