Comment | The person wearing probably Central Asian costume with overcoat is depicted on the center of the bowl. The cup held on the right hand may be a glass filled with red wine. The place of the origin of grape which is raw materials of the wine has been regarded as Mediterranean coast, Anatolia or Caucasus. Wine was called as "beer of mountain". It suggests that the cultivation of wine might have been impossible in Mesopotamia, extremely dry region. |
