Comment | The ancient city Ebla has flourished aound 2500-2000 BC in northeast Syria. Seventeen thousand clay tablets, which were found from G Palace, the most important building of the city revealed that the city has developed by trade of lapis lazuli. Ebla imported lapis lazuli from Pakistan, and then distributed the precious stone to Egypt. The city was destroyed by Sargon, the king of Akkadian empire, but reconstructed soon after. This is typical type of pottery after the rebirth of Ebla. |
