| Comment | The buff paste pottery decorated with reddish-brown painting is called Ardabil Ware which is distributed in Azerbaijan, northern Iran, in Parthian period, around two thousand years ago. The animal depicted on the center of the vase is considered as ibex, the wild goat from its features such as long curved horns, long legs, goatee and short tail. Azerbaijan is mountainous area where steep cliffs continue. Deer and horse are depicted on the similar shape of pottery from that region. We can see the world of people who engaged in animal domestication from these designs. |
