| Comment | Alabaster is widely used for containers for its translucency and because the stone is soft and easy to process. Striped alabaster is not only pleasing to the eye but also offers a beautiful contrast between the opaque white and brown colors when light passes through the stone. Many types of alabaster vessels were made during the Achaemenid dynasty. |
