| Comment | Lamps were used not only for daily life but also for votive offerings to gods, as funerary goods, and for religious rituals. The upper and bottom parts were molded separately, and then they were compressed together to be adhered. Because the nozzle to put the wick through becomes tubular, it is difficult for the wick to fall. In addition, the brightness was regulated by pulling the wick in and out. On the upper surface, various motifs were depicted, such as floral designs, geometric designs, goddesses, animals, and scenes of daily life and entertainment. |
