Comment | It is a clay female figurine found in the ancient Syrian city in the later third millennium BC. The pose supporting breasts with both hand is considered as the praying gesture. Big eyes and unique, winding hair are characteristic. Luxury neckless is expressed on the long robe. The female clay figurine continued to be made since Neolithic period. Generally, it is interpreted as a mother goddess, and it is thought to have been used as an amulet and in religious services. |
