| Concept | 進歩という名に目が眩んだ人類はゴミに目をつぶった。しかし、殿敷侃はゴミに特別の言葉を語らせた。特に廃タイヤは力強い言葉だった。殿敷が最後のカを振絞って発した声が第14回現代日本彫刻展の「TYRE BEARING TREE［Plan 7］」である。数ヶ月後原爆症に起因する肝臓がんで殿敷は逝った。そして19年後、福島原発事故がおきた。いうまでもなく核こそが人類究極のゴミ問題である。進歩という名の地球破滅への愚挙を見据えていた殿敷が今いたなら必ずや声を発したであろう。本作品は殿敷へ敬意を込めて『あの廃タイヤ』を引用している。『あの廃タイヤ』の声をもう一度聞いてみよう。 Mankind, bedazzled at the notion of progress, closes its eyes at garbage. But Tadashi Tonoshiki gave a unique voice to garbage. Old tires are particularly empowered with expression. Tonoshiki summoned his last bit of strength to give voice to the "TYRE BEARING TREE [Plan 7]" at The 14th UBE Biennale. Several months later, Tonoshiki succumbed to liver cancer caused by atomic bomb radiation sickness. Then, 19 years later, the Fukushima nuclear accident occurred. Without a doubt, nuclear power presents mankind's ultimate garbage problem. Tonoshiki likely had to voice his concerns beholding the foolishness of destroying the earth in the name of progress. The piece is called "Those Waste Tires" in homage to Tadashi Tonoshiki. Listen once more to the voice of "Those Waste Tires." |
