As the sculptor suggests, pigeons and crows are “signposts of survival”. The series of birds is the embodiment of the massive amount of drawings, produced like writing a diary, based on which the artist acquired one scene after another through the process of reflection, summary, and destruction, and by savoring the fun of creative work. There are more than sixty pigeons and over a dozen crows made into bronze statues. Ube City Library displays four of such pigeons, created in different times with different manners. They offer readers a moment of quiet respite from the stressful use of eyes. “Shifting mass within the nature, milling around masses” – viewers become gradually aware of the differences in the four birds.
