| Concept | 長く続いてきたこの作家のPONKOシリーズは、最初は機関車にも似た遊具のような鉄の作品で、音なども飛び出すオブジェ風のものだったが、ここにきて軽やかなステンレス材の動く彫刻となった。ポール上部の風車や方向舵を満載した船型の部分は、高さ12mの上空で風をいっぱい受けながら本体ともども部分もまた多方向に回転する。新しい境地を示す、心地よい野外彫刻である。 PONKO series, which the sculptor has been working on for many years, initially featured iron objects looking like a playground equipment in the shape of a locomotive added with sound and other effects. The latest version, on the other hand, takes the form of a mobile sculpture made of light stainless-steel materials. The boat-like feature decked with windmills and rudders is placed on top of a pole with 12m in height, where its body and parts rotate in many directions in full wind. The breezy open-air sculpture represents the sculptor’s new creative frontier. |
