The artist has been using materials collected from crumbling houses and other abandoned structures to rebuild them into something unique from existing sculptures. This artwork reuses a pier removed from a bridge across a river in Ube. The monument is made of the dismantled pier and its debris. Shells and green algae permanently stuck to the surface of the pier once submerged in the river water add the sentiment of passage of time to the artwork and nostalgia for structures long gone. This sculptural concept has now become an internationally recognizable expression.
