Koshimizu's recent works often consists of multiple works. Since his earliest career in the 1970s as an advocate of “Mono-ha”, a movement in pursuit of significance in materials and the meaning of existence, he remained faithful to various forms and color schemes that have long been part of our daily life. His art may be an endless devotion to things that “wrap” and “contain”, such as boxes, chests, vessels, bowls, buildings, etc., and to their liberation in his artistic space. In short, it is the landscaping of containers. The six patinated boats are placed in the courtyard visible from the reading room of the municipal library, where they reflect the blue sky on the rainwater collected on them and take the readers’ thoughts out for a walk.
