| Concept | ほぼ同じ大きさの直方体の石を上下二段に重ねた端正な姿だが、前後の正面向きの部分はみごとに磨きぬかれているのに、左右は削り残しの部分をギザギザに放置してあり、端正さの中にある種の余裕というか、遊びがあって、それが全体に面白い表情を与えている。従来の正面性、対象性をもった彫刻からの脱出が試みられている。作者は1992年、惜しまれながら60歳で世を去った。 The stylish monument consists of rectangular cubes of almost the same size stacked up in two layers. While the front and the back sides of the rectangles are thoroughly polished, the left and right sides keep the rough and edgy surfaces. How it leaves room for playfulness in its neatness adds a unique depth to the whole. An attempt to escape the traditional frontality and objectivity of sculptures is visible in the piece. In 1992, the sculptor passed away too early at the age of sixty. |
