Biography

1907＝ 北海道岩見沢市に生まれる
1921＝ 庁立札幌第二中学入学、上級に本郷新が在籍
1925＝ 東京高等工芸学校(現千葉大学工学部)工芸彫刻部に入学
1927＝ この頃、本郷新を通じ高村光太郎に出会い彫刻家への道を決意
1929＝ 第４会国画会展
1931＝ 道展会員となる　16回まで出品
1933＝ 国画会会友となる　37年に同人となる
1939＝ 新制作派協会彫刻部創設に参加
1949＝ 月寒公園に「労農運動犠牲者の碑」設置
1955＝ 長崎国際文化会館に「母子像」設置
1957＝ 札幌市民会館に「希望」設置
1958＝ 日比谷野外彫刻展
1959＝ 第５会日本国際美術展　札幌中之島公園に「森の歌」設置
1964＝ 北海道銀行本店に「大地」を本郷新、佐藤忠良と共同制作
1967＝ 新潟市に「新潟県戦没者慰霊碑」「新潟震災復興記念碑」設置
1970＝ 中原悌二郎賞の選考委員となる　北海道開拓記念館に「羽ばたき」設置
1971＝ ベトナム戦争に取材したソンミシリーズの初作「慟哭の碑」制作
1972＝ 札幌オリンピック記念モニュメント「飛翔」制作
1975＝ 死去
