Summary	One of the special features of this work is the broken lines which move in sinuous, never crossing themselves, horizontally across the page. If you look closely you can see that these lines graze the end of simply drawn houses, and motifs such as trees drawn solely with vertical lines combined with a few vertical lines and circular forms. Green, red, blue, and white are placed here and there on the base tone of a dark navy blue. We can surmise that the women's pavilion of the title is in the lower center of the work, with its curtain pulled back and held on both sides, and window-like darkness appears between them. The overall form looks like some sort of stage setup, and the horizontal lines can be seen as a musical notation or a landscape seen reflected on a watery surface. Like a child's drawing, and expression of an abstracted image through simple lines and simplified forms, and the use of oil colors in such a way that there is a layering of translucent pigments across a base color, all create a remarkable harmony of color, line, and form.

1. Indicate the owner of the collection
Please indicate the Aichi Prefectural Museum of Art as the owner of the collection. For pieces that are part of the Kimura Teizo Collection, credit “Aichi Prefectural Museum of Art (Kimura Teizo Collection)”, and for pieces from the Fujii Tatsukichi Collection, credit “Aichi Prefectural Museum of Art (Fujii Tatsukichi Collection)”.

2. Indicate any cropping or modifications
If you used a cropped version of the image, indicate that it is partial image. If you make any other modifications, please indicate that as well.

3. Get permission from third-party copyright holders
Even images that are marked as "Public Domain" or "CC0" may be copyrighted by a third party or subject to other rights. It is your sole responsibility as the user of these images to secure permission from any copyright holders. The museum will bear no responsibility for any violations resulting from image user actions.

4. Use of high-resolution images
If you would like to use high-resolution images then please contact Image usage representative.

2．Request non–public domain images

　Those who wish to use the types of images listed in (1)–(2) below must fill out a Image Usage Request after reviewing the Guidelines on the Use of Images and send it via email to our image usage representative (contact information provided below. For further information, please see "Image licensing").

*This includes images that are within the term of copyright protection and for which permission to transmit to the public has been obtained from the copyright owner, as well as images within the extent considered to be necessary (32,400 pixels or less) in the Article 47 of the Copyright Act.

3．Request regarding deliverables

　We ask that you provide the museum with a copy of any deliverables (e.g. printed materials) created using images from our collection so that we can keep them for reference. Please send them to our image usage representative (contact information provided below).

Biography	Born in Müchenbuchsee on the outskirts of Berne, Switzerland. Studied at an art academy in Munich, and then traveled to Italy. After returning to Switzerland, moved once again to Munich. Starting in 1911 became a friend of the Blaue Reiter artists, such as Kandinsky. In 1914, traveled to Tunisia with August Macke and others, and was enthralled by the unique colors of North Africa. From that time on, colors became an important formal subject of Klee's work. Served in the German Army during World War I, and then almost immediately after the war, in 1921 was invited by Gropius to become a Meister at the Bauhaus school for comprehensive formal arts. Later taught at Kunstakademie in Düsseldorf. In 1931 was suddenly fired from his job with the rise of the Nazis, and in 1933 retired to Berne. Suffered from major illnesses during his later years, and left over 9,000 works created throughout his life. Died in Muralto near Locarno. Also extremely interested in music and poetry, and his creative realm was richly poetic, as seen in his literary titles for his works, his formal presentation of musical terms and his use of theatrical works as his subject matter.
