| 作品解説 | 6mの高さの鉄の四角柱が、途中で湾曲しながら立っている。根元と上部の方はがっちりした面体であるのに、ちょうど湾曲しているあたりは線条に切れ込みが入れてあって、空が透けて見えているので、力学のバランスからすると、いつぐにゃりと折れ曲がりかねない視覚的な危うさをふりまいている。コールテン鋼の錆びの色と、16本の線条の間から透けて見える湖水面の青さが、遠近の心地よい対比をみせて、一見そっけない形態ながらある種の緊張感をはらんでいる。第15回現代日本彫刻展でのテレビ山口賞受賞作品。 The 6m-high iron prism stands, curving along the way. Its base and upper part are solid cuboids, but because the curved area in between has linear slits, through which the sky beyond is visible, the object visually exudes precariousness, as if the mechanical force is about to bend it sharply and break the structure. The rusty color of the weathering steel and the blue water surface of the lake beyond, visible through the 16 slits, create a pleasant perspective contrast and present a kind of tension in its nonchalance. The piece won the Television Yamaguchi Broadcasting Award at the 15th Contemporary Japanese Sculpture Exhibition. |
