Toyota Ambulance

DescriptionThis ambulance was developed over the traditional bonnet style ambulances due to the extent of equipment and functionality it had, such as the ability to load stretchers, and operated as the standard until 1991 when high-standard ambulances were introduced. This ambulance was stationed at the Akabane Fire Station in 1988 and worked on the frontlines until 1996.
The sound of the ambulance’s siren was changed to that of present day, the so-called “pi-po sound,” over a period from July 1970 to June 1972.
This body of this ambulance was a Toyota Hiace and was supplied by Central Automobiles in Sagamihara City.
