Stutz Pumper Fire Engine

DescriptionIn 1924, while the wounds of the Great Kantō Earthquake were still fresh, this fire engine was imported from the United States around the same time as the Ahrens-Fox pumper fire engine and was stationed at the Number 5 Fire Station (present day Ueno Fire Station). A rotary pump from the Northern Pump Company was installed in the center of the vehicle underneath the driver’s seat. Its distinguished features drew the attention of the people of time. It was active until 1953 and ran for a total of 30,000 km.
