| 作品解説 | 馬琴作の読本で、文化5年正月に「前編」、同年10月に「後編」が出版された。史実では幼くして源頼朝に討たれた木曽義仲の子義高だが、本書では乳母の苦肉の策で生き長らえる。諸国放浪中の義高は、生前の父義仲が戦勝祈願した頼豪阿闍梨の亡霊から怪鼠の術を授けられ、これをもって頼朝の命を狙うも、逆に義仲を兄の仇と憎む猫間光実が義高に対峙する。 永田コレクションには、「前編」が3件（nagataⅠ/hok/c/358-360）、「後編」が3件（nagataⅠ/hok/c/361-363）収められている。「前編」の（358）と「後編」の（361※八ノ上1冊のみ）は初摺の鶴屋喜右衛門版で、他は見返や奥付から大坂の岡田茂兵衛版（後摺）と分かり、背景の墨の地潰しや薄墨による表現が省かれている。 |
