| 作品解説 | 神田八丁堀に住む悋嗇病（けち）の京屋玉右衛門と番頭の丈八との金にまつわる物語である。寛政12年（1800）に、序文を改刻し改題した『人間万事二一天作五』が出版された。ちなみに書名の「二一天作五」は珠算で用いた割算の九九の一つで、転じて計算や勘定を表す。作者は、安永から享和期に数多くの黄表紙を書いた人気戯作者・市場通笑（1737-1812）の門人の道笑と称する人物で、他に『いろは文字 ほへとたんか』（北尾政美画）がある。 |
