| 作品解説 | 夕涼みで賑わう隅田川の情景を驚くほど緻密に描いた浮絵である。前景では水茶屋や見世物小屋が軒を連ね、その隙間を人々が埋め尽くし、両国橋の上も優に100人を超す群衆で満たされている。隅田川には多くの納涼船が浮かび、打ち上げられた花火が夜空を彩っている。隅田川の夏の夜の活況を見事に描出した、春朗期の浮絵で最も著名な図である。一方、全体を俯瞰で見下ろす視点としながら、画面左の火の見櫓は仰ぎ見る視点で描かれるなど、不合理な点も見受けられる。なお後年、ベロ藍を用いた鮮やかな色摺に変更し、題名を「江都両国橋夕凉花火之図」（nagataⅠ/shn/a/053,054）に改めた図が出版された。 |
