| 作品解説 | この屏風は「武蔵野は月の入るべき嶺もなし尾花が末にかかる白雲」（『続古今和歌集』）など、平安時代の古歌をはじめとして古来よりたびたび詠まれた武蔵野の歌意を表わしたものとされる。一面に生い茂る薄野と満月を前景に、そして金雲を中景、富士山、筑波山を後景に配して、武蔵野の秋の風情を装飾的に描いている。大画面を埋める薄はリズミカルな描写で、その間からは満月と桔梗、女郎花、撫子、野菊、萩などの野花が顔をのぞかせ、秋の野原の気配を濃厚に映し出している。四季の変化と自然の素朴さを愛でる日本人にとっても、とりわけ秋草に対する観照は特別で、絵画、工芸など美術の諸分野に写実的あるいは意匠的に表現されて、日本の美意識を示す一つの要素となっている。 |
