解説文（日本語）	茨城県の沖合では，暖かい海流の黒潮と冷たい海流の親潮がぶつかり「潮目」がつくられます。その海域では，プランクトンが多く，それを食べるイワシなどの小魚，さらに，それを食べるマグロなどの大型魚類やオオミズナギドリなどの海鳥が集まります。　ここでは，潮目付近で見られる食物連鎖のようすをジオラマで再現しています。また，このような潮目には多くの魚類が集まるため，よい漁場にもなっており，茨城県は全国の漁獲高で常に上位を維持しています。

explanatory text	The ocean off the coast of Ibaraki is a rare meeting point of the warm waters of the Kuroshio current and the cold Oyashio current. This collision of currents is the gathering point for a wide variety of fish, as well as other wildlife. This area of the ocean contains an abundance of plankton, along with small fish such as sardines that eat plankton, and large fish like tuna and seabirds like streaked shearwater that eat the little fish. There are distinctive differences between the fish found in the cold current from those found on the warmer side, including their physical size and color. The diorama highlights these differences and showcases the food chain of the area. This spot is excellent for fishing because of the many varieties of fish that swim in the waters, and the reason why Ibaraki consistently hauls in the largest amount of fish in Japan.
