| 解説 | 本作は自宅療養を続ける哲三が、ようやく筆をとることができるようになった1951年(昭和26)暮から翌春にかけて病床で制作されました。「二階の部屋からわずかに見える、町並から田圃につづく道や、拡がる空から、これまでの想像によって、彼の心に湧き上る、懐かしい蒲原平野を画面に構成した」と豊子夫人は回想しています。 そこに住む者でなければ決して感得できないであろう自然に対する情感が、隅々にまで満ちている作品となっています。 This work was produced while Tetsuzo was recuperating from illness at home from the end of 1951 to the following spring. Tetsuzo’s wife Toyoko would later recall “he composed the work on canvas, that the nostalgic Kambara Plain that sprung up in his mind by seeing the road leading from the townscape to the rice fields, the expanding sky, with his imagination.” The work is full of emotions about nature that only those who had lived there would fully be able to comprehend. |
