| 解説 | 橋本雅邦は、狩野芳崖とともに狩野派最後の大家として活躍しました。伝統的な狩野派の手法に西洋絵画の表現を取り入れ、日本画の近代化に大きな役割を果たしました。この作品では、樹木や岩を描く線の筆使いなどに狩野派の特徴が見られるものの、岩の陰影や山々の遠近などに西洋画の影響が色濃く見受けられます。近景の川や岩、樹木は濃い墨で描き、遠景の岩山は薄墨を用いて霞ませることで、奥行きを巧みに表現しています。 HASHIMOTO Gaho was one of the last great painters of the Kano school, along with KANO Hogai. He incorporated the expression of Western painting into the traditional Kano school method, playing a major role in the modernization of Japanese painting. Characteristic elements of the Kano school can be seen in this work in the brush strokes in the trees and rocks, but western influence is visible in the shadows of the rocks and the perspective of the mountains. The rivers, rocks, and trees in the foreground are drawn with dark ink, and the rocky mountains in the distance are blurred with light ink to express depth. |
