| 解説 | 薄墨で描かれた雨は南画のような味わいがあり、橋や人物の描き方は絵巻物を思わせる大和絵調です。また、川の水の流れはリズミカルに様式化され、琳派の表現を思わせます。このような伝統的な諸派を融合したおおらかな筆法は、古径が明治末から大正初期にかけて参加した紅児会（こうじかい）やそのリーダー的存在であった日本画家今村紫紅から影響を受けています。この時期に、古径は、自らの芸術の基礎を築いたのでした。 The rain drawn in light ink has the flavor of a painting in the Nanga style, and the people and bridges are depicted in the Yamato-e style, reminiscent of picture scrolls. The flow of water in the river is rhythmically stylized, an expression of the Rinpa school. This brushwork style, blending these traditional schools, is influenced by painter IMAMURA Shiko. IMAMURA had led the Kojikai, an organization in which Kokei had participated from the end of the Meiji era to the beginning of the Taisho era. It was during this period that Kokei laid the foundation for his artwork. |
