| 作品解説 | まだ学生であったココシュカが、思春期の苦悩をテーマに、詩と絵の両方を手がけた版画集。詩のなかで主人公の少年は何度も夢を見て、遠い島々へ旅をします。少年が少女「リー」と出会い、恋愛告白によって物語は幕を閉じます。最終場面は、他の頁と比べても人体描写が入念で、右の少年にココシュカ自身が、左の少女に当時の想い人「リー」が重ねられており、自伝的な内容となっています。内面を曝け出す制作姿勢や奇妙に歪んだ人体表現などから、当時の反応は賛否両論でしたが、現在ではココシュカの初期の代表作として知られています。 オスカー・ココシュカ 1886‐1980 オーストリアのペヒラルン生まれ。ウィーン工芸美術学校で学ぶ。在学中からウィーン工房で制作し、装飾的な作風の影響を受ける。1908年クリムトの招待で展覧会に参加し、「最も野性的」と評されスキャンダルを巻き起こす。心理描写の強い肖像画や風景画でも個性を発揮した。1934年ナチスの迫害を避け亡命。晩年はスイスで過ごした。 |
| Description | This is a collection of prints by Kokoschka, still a student at the time, featuring both poetry and illustrations on the theme of adolescent struggles. In the poems, the protagonist, a boy, has a dream multiple times, and travels to distant islands. The story ends with the boy meeting a girl named Li and confessing his love to her. The final scene features more detailed depictions of the human body than the other pages, with Kokoschka himself superimposed onto the boy on the right, and his love interest at the time, Li, superimposed onto the girl on the left, giving the work an autobiographical quality. Due to its approach of laying his inner world bare and the strangely distorted depictions of the human body, his work received mixed reactions at the time, but it is known today as one of Kokoschka’s early masterpieces. |
