| 作品解説 | この版画集は、カンディンスキーがヴァイマールのバウハウスの指導者に着任した1922年に刊行されました。一見雑然とした様々な形が、対角線を構図の軸としながら、それぞれに秩序ある「小さな世界」を形成しています。 正方形に近いフォーマットに統一された画面は、木版画・石版画・銅版画各4点ずつという、技法も含めた豊かなバリエーションをもち、まるで万華鏡のように観る者を飽きさせません。地形を思わせる形や流れるような曲線に加えて、円や格子模様などが登場しており、幾何学的形態を中心に構成する、1920年代の作品の特徴が現れています。 |
| Description | This collection of prints was published in 1922, the year Kandinsky became a Master at the Bauhaus in Weimar. The various shapes, which at first glance seem chaotic, each form an orderly “little world” with diagonal lines as axes of their composition. The prints, uniform in their nearly square format, consist of four woodblock prints, four lithographs, and four copperplate prints. With their rich variation, even in technique, these pieces are like a kaleidoscope, never boring the viewer. In addition to topography-evoking shapes and flowing curves, circles and grid patterns also appear, revealing the geometric forms that are characteristic of Kandinsky’s work from the 1920s. |
