| 作品解説 | 大河のほとりの城郭都市の門が開き、住民たちが続々と出てきました。目当ては今しがた到着した帆船から降り立った、商人たちの広げる品物の数々。カンディンスキーの故郷ロシアの中世を思わせる、童話の世界のような光景です。 人々の姿や建造物は、暗い下地の上に不透明な画材による色斑を散りばめることで形作られています。それぞれの色が鮮やかさを保ちながら共存し、時間が止まったような独特の雰囲気が、見る者を豊かな空想に誘います。西ヨーロッパの画家とは一味異なる色彩感覚が存分に活かされた、カンディンスキー初期の代表作です。 |
| Description | The gates of a walled town on the banks of a large river have opened, and residents have poured out one after another. They are headed for the expanse of goods spread out by merchants who have disembarked from a sailing ship that has just arrived. This fairytale-like scene evokes Kandinsky’s homeland of Russia in medieval times. The figures of people and buildings are formed by the scattering of opaque colored spots over a dark background. Each color coexists while maintaining its own vividness, creating a unique atmosphere in which time seems to stop, and which invites the viewer into a rich fantasy. This is one of Kandinsky’s early masterpieces that fully utilizes a sensibility of color that is somewhat distinct from that of Western European painters. |
